Our second stay at this hotel...we arrived after a Viking river cruise...a very short walk from the ships. Despite arriving quite early in the day our room was ready. As A Hilton Diamond we were upgraded to a wonderful room with a great view. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and were pleased with both. The breakfast buffet has everything you could imagine to start your day. Kudos to the concierge staff for their warm welcome (in addition to the warm cookies!) and making us feel very special. They arranged our airport transportation...fairly priced and on time! If in Amsterdam again, we will stay here again!

We had an enjoyable stay and only wished we could have stayed longer at this hotel. The location is perfect; right next to Centraal Station in the heart of the city. The only thing we had trouble with was finding the parking garage as it was not intuitive where to go. I ended up calling the front desk and they guided me to the garage over the phone. There was a line at check in and there was a couple having some kind of problem at the HHonors line but another staff member opend up a line and quickly helped us. I was thrilled with the upgrade we were given and had a nice view of the water from our room. We especially enjoyed the Executive Lounge where the food and drinks were ample. Breakfast was especially good with both champagne and salmon available. Our room was booked with HHonors points and I did feel it was an expensive redemption. We are Diamond members and were celebrating our anniversary. We received all of our benefits without even asking. I regret we didn't have time to redeem our free drink coupons or visit the Sky Deck Lounge. Our room was clean and comfortable; decent size for a European hotel room. Front desk staff were excellent. We were given a late check out and told we could stay in the Executive Lounge until 5 pm if need be to accomodate our travel plans. I would definately stay here again.

Starting with the positives with this property: The location is good, the staff are nice, and the Executive Lounge was nice as well. Unfortunately, there were negatives with this property. After a long flight, when we checked in, the staff appeared to try to upgrade us, but said it would be 30 minutes and was not guaranteed. We accepted the wait and hung out in the Executive Lounge. They said they would come find us there in 30 minutes. After 45 minutes, there were no sign of any staff. I walked up to check-in asking the status of what was going on. Apparently, there was never any upgrade and the agent apologized. It was not the worst thing, but when we got to our room, we discovered carpet that looked like someone had thrown-up on. This in itself showed a lack of cleanliness and that always is a big negative. There were also several small insects on the walls. The standard room was fairly expensive with Honors Points. For what you get, we would look elsewhere. This property was disappointing. As Diamond members, we will not be back.
