This is my third time using this hotel however this is my first review. Let me start by saying I was going to be checking in very late on 09/13 because of flat tire on my to DC I called the hotel to let them know I was coming, but it would be late. Myriah P answered and was so polite I thought I dialed the wrong number (Seriously) she was so friendly, and polite and also told me to have a safe trip in.
I got to the hotel couldn't print the form I needed so I see a young lady walking in the lobby I did not know at the time she was an employee because her back was to me, but she must have heard me say something about It won't print (I was talking to my sister) the young lady came right over to help, but we were still unable to print. She says to me are you able to email to me? She made my night because without that form I couldn't get my rate. While I'm checking in she says Mrs. Jenkins you called earlier, and I'm glad you made it safely. I said so you're the young lady I spoke with on the phone? This young lady made me feel really calm after a long day.
I left breakfast and went to the front desk to report an issue with my room I spoke with Yasmeen M who was not very friendly while I was speaking to her about the issue my sister and I noticed a woman looking in my vehicle- my sister made the statement she is looking in your car. Yasmeen says on she giving you a ticket because you are not suppose to park there I said I can park there I handicapped placards she said well do you live in DC? My answer to her was handicapped placards are good anywhere I go--she said again do you live in DC? I shut completely down.
I had another issue in the room( this issue did not require any department) I went back downstairs there was one person ahead of me so I waited and I said to myself I do not want to talk to this girl again (Yasmeen) then from out of know where a door opens and it's Mrs Louise she says I can help the next guest, the man in front of me said you can go. Mrs. Louise front end supervisor--I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am that you were working on Saturday morning-- unknowing to you this was my second trip to the front desk. I explained my situation with my disabled and wheelchair dependent husband and Mrs. Louise took care of what I needed, with tears in my eyes I could not thank her enough.
Upon our departure on the 16th I was so happy to see her smiling face. She actually came from behind the counter to thank us for choosing Residence Inn, and we were actually able to give her a hug.
Patricia in the dining room you treated us like family thank you for taking care of your guest.
These three LADIES are a true asset to Marriott. Continue to give your best, and it will certainly come back to you.
Again thank you--Mrs Louise (Front desk supervisor), Myriah (Front desk), and Patricia (dining room)
Room was stocked with a full kitchen, coffee, and popcorn, a working station, and 2 tvs (one in the living room and 1 in the bedroom). Toiletries were nice. The building is secure as the front door is locked after hours.I didn’t enjoy the free breakfast nor do they off a to-go pack for those who leave before the restaurant opens as some other hotels offer.

Overall, this was a descent hotel for our family trip to DC. Having the space and the kitchen (mostly for using the fridge) was nice. The walk to the National Mall is about 10 minutes and you can take the DC Circulator bus from there as well. If you are interested in having a lot of dining options close by, this would not be an idea location. This hotel is in the federal building/business district, and the area pretty much shuts down after 5pm. We wound up north of the mall for many of our dinner nights. The other issue we had was the room plumbing. One afternoon we were taking a break at the hotel and the kitchen sink started gurgling and making strange noises. We never really used the sink or dishwasher, so we were not sure what was happening. We called for maintenance, and then we had to head out for a night monument tour. When we returned at nearly 11pm, they were still not sure what was happening, and we had to move to another room - at 11PM after a very long day of sightseeing and walking. Not our favorite moment of the vacation.
